1850's cottage roof refurb

The roof had old Chinese slates on which were removed and replaced with Spanish slate. During the re roof it was discovered that the rafters were rotten along the eaves. These were removed and replacements fitted and the whole roof treated. Old houses are not as straight forward as newer builds and it is very common to come across additional issues once the work is progressed. It is essential that a flexible approach is taken so that you can adapt to the changes ahead.
